Where to Buy the Engagement Ring

When it’s time to go ring shopping, I suggest you go to a jewelry store. You can get personal one-on-one time with a salesperson, allowing yourself to ask your questions that perhaps you couldn’t find the answers to online. You definitely want to do your research first before you walk into a jewelry store though. Whether your research is done through the internet, magazines, books, people, get it done first. If you buy your ring at a jewelry store, you can get a second opinion on the ring from the salesperson, but you want to be careful that they’re not just encouraging you to buy it to boost their commission. Shopping malls and factories are also a good place to buy engagement rings, perhaps maybe even cheaper than if you went to a regular jewelry store.

The only place you want to be wary of shopping from is off the internet. You only see a picture of the diamond ring that you want. You can’t physically try it on and “test drive” it. This is a couple thousand dollar ring. You want to be certain it’s the ring you want to get for your girlfriend. But, if there’s no other way to buy a ring except from online, be sure that the ring comes with a certified report verifying its authenticity. Since the ring is bought online, it can be easily switched or it can be a fake. Given that you do not see the ring before buying it, make sure everything is in writing and hold onto it just in case you’ll need it later in the future.

As mentioned before, you want to make sure that all the jewelry you’re looking at is certified. If you’re in a well-respected jewelry store like DeBeers or Tiffany’s, they are most likely to be certified. If they’re not, you want to get it done even if it costs you more. Think of it this way, you would rather pay more to verify the worth of your diamond than to buy a diamond thinking the value is greater than it really is. Then you would have spent more on a lesser valued diamond. It’s definitely worth your interest to buy a certified diamond engagement ring.
